The Changpa People's Coexistence with the Snow Leopard
In partnership with Elephant Family, follow Akash’s journey through Ladakh, where he lives among the Changpa people to understand their way of life and the challenges of coexisting with the elusive snow leopard and feral dogs.
The film highlights a tangible outcome of this partnership - the installation of seven predator-proof livestock corrals in Ladakh, an immediate need identified by local conservation leaders Dorjay and Lobzang. Funded through the Fable Fund’s contribution, these corrals will safeguard around 3,000 livestock belonging to seven households and the community monastery, helping to reduce conflict between people and wildlife.
The Guardians of High Winds showcases how the Fable Fund supports community-led coexistence - empowering people to protect their livelihoods while ensuring a future for the snow leopard among the high winds of Ladakh.
